Atom Age Vampire

Watch Part One now!

Length: 5 minutes.

Or: Start watching Atom Age Vampire from the very beginning.

Today's synopsis: Pierre breaks up with Jeanette because she's a stripper. Upset, Jeanette gets in her car and breaks her face in an auto accident. Regular doctors can do nothing for her, but the evil Dr. Levin wants to use her as a guinea pig for his new youth formula, Derma 28.

Process: Atom Age Vampire is an awful, awful horror film from 1960, and I've decided to strip the sound from it and animate all new visuals, scene-by-crappy-scene, until it's done--probably around the end of the year. Stay tuned for more Atom Age Vampire!

Part One is a big chunk, five minutes. Future scenes will most likely run under two minutes for easier viewing. I just wanted to introduce al the characters and get this bomb running.

Part One actually took about a week to animate, because I had to come up with the general look of the movie, the characters, etc.

That's a brillant idea. You could do this with any movie in the public domain. Or tv shows in the public domain. Or even radio dramas or other cartoons. Nice.

Any suggestions for future public domain animation fun?

And but so this is a good place to mention that I animated the sound from several educational and industrial shorts as part of my Bateman365 project, like the wonderful 1949 short Build Your Vocabulary.
