Time out

I'm taking a brief time-out from Atom Age Vampire to work on a few other projects that need um, projecting.

But--I expect to return to AAV next week with Part 20. Stay tuned!

019

Watch Part 019 now!

Length: About 90 seconds or so.

Or: Start watching Atom Age Vampire from the very beginning.

Today's synopsis: Some people who we don't know who they are make a startling discovery, and Dr. Levin and Jeanette drive around and listen to the radio.

Comments: How is it that when people in movies turn on the radio, something comes on that directly pertains to them? This never happens to me. I never turn on the radio and hear, "This just in: Scott Bateman slept in today and lounged around in his underwear, watching the Conan O'Brien episode he TiVO'ed last night." Not that, you know, that would be accurate or anything.

Process: Today's animation took about two hours at the Starbucks on Second Avenue. Yes, again. Shut up.

018.

Watch Part 018 now!

Length: Just over two minutes.

Or: Start watching Atom Age Vampire from the very beginning.

Today's synopsis: The police inspector and Dr. Levin talk about pretty much everything but Monique's death.

Comments: Allow me to apologize in advance--this scene is really, really not all that interesting, or even important to the film. I'm surprised they don't start talking about the weather, or how the Mets are doing. But I guess audiences back then enjoyed watching movie characters make uncomfortable small talk. Who knew?

Process: Today's animation took about two hours at the Starbucks on Second Avenue. Yup. Pretty much.

New blurbs!

"Scott has done it again! He makes the most mundane things interesting and cool, I wish he could animate my life..(Virtual Tear)"--Paul Scheer, VH-1's Best Week Ever.

"Watching Atom Age Vampire is like sticking your head inside a velvet bag, smacking it repeatedly with a ball-peen hammer, and then getting a big sloppy kiss from a midget. It's just that good."--Dawn Taylor, eFilmCritic.com.

017...

Watch Part 017 now!

Length: About 1:20.

Or: Start watching Atom Age Vampire from the very beginning.

Today's synopsis: The cops perform a really, really thorough investigation of Jeanette's death. Dang.

Comments: Yes, I made an Umbrellas of Cherbourg reference today. You're welcome.

No, I don't know why I made the police inspector look like Zach Galifianakis. These things happen.

Process: Today's animation took about two hours at the Starbucks on Second Avenue, where they played the new Beck album, which I'm digging.

016!

Watch Part 016 now!

Length: About 1:20.

Or: Start watching Atom Age Vampire from the very beginning.

Today's synopsis: The cops arrive, plus Jeanette & Sasha share a special moment.

Comments: You are SO not ready for the wacky cigarette subplot, Slappy.

Process: Today's animation--well, I worked on it for about 90 minutes at the Union Square Starbucks, but then I lost everything. Doh! So later, I started over again at the Second Avenue Starbucks and finished in under two hours.

This happened a few times on the Bateman365, where I lost a file and had to start oer again. Usually, the second version turns out WAY better, so maybe I should try to lose my files every day...?

015!

Watch Part 015 now!

Length: About 1:20.

Or: Start watching Atom Age Vampire from the very beginning.

Today's synopsis: Can Dr. Levin convince Monique to help with his evil plan...?

Comments: I'm sure Monique has a long, long life ahead of her. Or not. Either way.

Process: Today's animation--about 90 minutes, at the Starbucks on Second Avenue. Yes, again. Shut up.
